She resides in the “Cowboy Capital of the World” which makes the western art world an important reflection on collections of her work.
“The purpose of my work is to capture the feeling or the spirit of the animal with a simple glance. I’m driven by understanding wildlife’s natural beauty and how the simplicity of one brush stoke can depict that. I can often be found in a bar ditch in Texas, photographing my next subject on the other side of the barbed wire fence or climbing down a cliff in New Mexico. I am passionate about painting animals in a bold brush style, while also betraying the softer side of wildlife.”
